With height slightly more than their diameters and tapering end.

Hazelnuts kernels are prepared in extra, 1 and class 2. Extra and
1st class hazelnut kernels have a minimum diameter of 9 mm. Those
below this size are named thin or piccola (6 – 9 mm) hazelnuts.
Extra
and 1st
class hazelnuts are generally prepared in following sizes in
accordance with the requirement of the buyer:
13-15 mm
11-13 mm.
less than 11 mm.
2nd
class hazelnut kernels do not require a sizing.
